Taxation on SMEs is expected to increase next year here too. It totally sucks, but usually policy-makers have never run a business and think money grows from trees or sth.
Since the pandemic started I am trying to do the most part of my shopping from local businesses and/or national brands. I have even bought some electronic devices I needed from 2nd hand shops or small local stores (i used to buy all my electronics online via Amazon or eBay). I think clothes are the only thing I have bought from large retailers, but I am more conscious about what I buy and from which companies.
This is the only way we can support SMEs through this period of hardship. If SMEs close down we will be in hands of large corporations. Large corporations systematically violate workers rights, offer lower wages, and are responsible for outsourcing factories. We can't expect governments or civil servants to do it, unfortunately. Somehow they havent realized SMEs are paying their salaries.
