I upload the image, select image post, title it, and when I click submit, I get a message saying that post must be image, link or text.

Yeah... their system does not seem to like certain image formats. Try a differnt format if possible. I've had luck uploading JPEGs. Hopefully it will get worked out, the .win sites are a work in progress.
It seems to not like PNG's
