THANK YOU! I came on here to post this. As someone who couldn’t understand why someone would even be a conservative let alone be one herself, I’m still uncomfortable with the term. I am highly open, I like difference, I like new ideas.... while I have actually totally figured out the benefits of conservatism, I’m still not comfortable identifying with the term. I’m trying to figure out why. From now on, I am proudly “Not Left”
Glad to have you! Just out of curiosity, were you recently left behind by or pushed out of the "other side" because of how far left they've gone?
I also begrudgingly voted for Hillary and have never believed the cops where hunting black people because I was raised in the city and have eyes. And all the black people I have ever known want more police!
Well, when Trump won I cried. However, whenever there is something in my life that is confusing or hard that I can’t control, I read about it. The more I read the more I learned. I feel I still have the same “morals” just different information.
I should say that having family in Poland and and visiting there when I was young resulted in me always supporting the free market. I remember going to Poland as a young punk, when my peers in the US were “socialists”, and the anarchist punks I became friends with just thinking that was ridiculous. ?
Also I was what is know as a TERF for a few years before 2016, which means I acknowledge biology as real. Lastly I liked memes, so there really wasn’t any chance for me. ??♀️
I’m not sure about this term now tho. I heard somewhere (maybe from Gavin) you can’t define something by what it’s not.
I also remember reading something about a party based on reason, like the pragmatic party or something.
I think it would be awesome if we actually could come up with something.
I'm registered as a Libertarian because that's really what I am-- but you can't vote Libertarian. I mean it sucks and I wish it wasn't true but that would just be throwing my vote away. We have a two-party system and until that changes it doesn't really matter what the other parties are or could be.
