I think Trump reacting to the mention of the proud boys was a big blunder. Trying to legitimize the Proud Boys (and proving to the world that they are not racist at all) is simply not his fight right now. I don't think he meant to even be put into a corner where he had to address TPB.
This is going to be a shitty albatross around Trump's neck, unless there is a BIG push to prove to the world that TPB is a pro-west, multi-racial, dudes drinking group....not enough time to do that before an election, IMO...might not even be possible; thanks to MSM bullshit.
The image of the Proud Boys is so fucking censored and lied about, it's scary. Google, Duck Duck Go, Chrome browser, Brave Browser...all the top results are complete smeer job articles on the "FAR RIGHT" Proud Boys. I do not see the average independent voter doing the digging to learn "oh wow...the Proud Boys have like 20% non white membership...and all they do is love America and drink beer and protect people from actual Fascists...Jewish, Gay, Black...they don't care about that at all, huh".
I hope to be wrong but, personally, I found that part to be a huge fuck up on Trump's part. Probably, a pretty rad feeling for Proud Boys, though.
There's more time and debate to try and articulate his position better but...man, I wish he avoided it...I hope I'm just being an out of touch pussy.
This was such bullshit. 3-4 months of antifa/BLM riots in the streets, and what we got from the debate was Trump condemning PBs. Un-fucking-believable.
Corey Booker also just brought up Proud Boys in the Judiciary Committee hearing questioning Comey. Totally unsolicited and no contextual reason to at all; just felt like virtue signaling on a Wednesday.
‘Stand back and stand by’
?
The direct quote--
"Proud Boys, stand back and stand by... but someone has to do something about Antifa" -Donald J. Trump
The PB memes are already going crazy.
