I know this is a long shot of getting traction on this board for this. (Gavin, maybe you can put me on yer show to organize other moms :D :D)
I am VERY concerned about kids having to sit in school wearing masks. I don't think this is ok. I am lucky that I have a toddler and they are not made to wear one in daycare, but I have an older stepson who is forced to wear one and it sickens me and breaks my heart, I feel like we are letting our children down and I am very worried about the future.
I posted before, wondering if Gavin's kids have to sit in class with a mask. I wonder this because I refuse to put one on my kid, but I am not in a place that it's either that or he can't go to school. What can be done in this situation? Do I need a lawyer? A doctor's note? What do I do???
I do not use Facebook for obvious reasons, but very much want to organize and connect with people against masks. Is anyone with me? Please, please DM me and I will share my contact info.
I am hoping that as an emotional woman I am overreacting, Thanks so much, have a great thanksgiving.
Children younger than 6 are never forced to wear masks here. Once they turn 6 they do, but they can ask for permission to go outside and breat. My 4 year old niece does not wear a mask, but my friend's 7 year-old kid does wear a mask at school.
This measure has been taken to actually protect the families, as here usually grandparents, parents and grandchildren live together in a single apartment.
My friend is a primary school teacher and said kids got used to wearing masks pretty quickly and that they follow the protocols with no problem. Teachers thought it would be much more traumatic than it actuallt was. They are also allowed to go outside anytime, which helped them cope during the first school weeks.
Recent studies prove that children are not superspreaders and that they have more chances to survive the virus. Still, it is about protecting the elderly.
