People have told me they've seen interviews with Gav behind pay walls (specifically with Anthony Cumia) where Gavin explicitly stated he didn't found the Proud Boys. Those same people told me "He didn’t even start the proud boys as a real thing. It was a joke the first time it was said on the radio"
What is true and what isn't?
He did start the PB. He has said it was started as a joke but it was created to get that one weak ass dude (can't remember his name) to man up and get laid. Whether he created it with "serious" intentions or not doesn't matter, he did create it and the group has stayed loyal to the initial tenets.
Also, I've never heard anyone claim that he has ever said that he did not found the PB. I challenge whoever said that to cite it with any context.
