IMHO it's not about rational or irrational, it's about lawful or not. They're lawyers FFS, they know the law.
All you have to do is delete your current facebook account and create a new one with an anonymous name and an avatar. Avoid including any kind of identifying info (phone number, pictures, schools, work, etc) and always avoid posting any personal information. That's what I did 3 or 4 years ago now and I don't think my work even knows I have an account. Oh, and only invite friends/family you can TRUST. I went from a few hundred 'friends' in my first account to 17 in my current account. When people ask me to be friends nowadays I say no, the account is for personal political discussions only. You can still join private groups and interface with people in your community and they'll never see what you post or who you follow on your account.
So what's this about an ethics panel? They were following established law according to the constitution and there's a chance they'll be punished for doing just that?
